FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Homebound Seniors Buoyed by Easter PlantsStar Nurseries and Moon Valley Nursery Help Brighten Senior's Holiday Spirit 04/13/2007 -- Henderson, NV- The Henderson Seniors' Auxiliary sold 75 beautiful plants donated by Star Nurseries and Moon Valley Nursery for delivery to the homebound seniors of Henderson. For many of these seniors, the Meals-on-Wheels drivers are their only connection to the outside world. "Reactions when these drivers were accompanied by Auxiliary Board members bearing donated Easter Plants were truly touching", said program chairperson Angelo Damiano of Green Valley. "We are so grateful to our benefactors at Star Nurseries and Moon Valley Nursery as well as the seventy-five generous contributors who made the purchases. I hope our community will support these local business who so generously support our community." Proceeds from this sale when to the Henderson Seniors’ Auxiliary which is a not-for-profit organization, making contributions tax deductible under section 5013c of the IRS Tax Code. The City of Henderson Seniors Center is located at 27 E. Texas St. Each day, they deliver Meals-on-Wheels to over 250 homebound seniors in the Henderson area as well as serving a hot lunch at the center. In addition to the Meals-on-Wheels program and the Hot Lunch at the center, the Auxiliary enables a variety of social and community based programs.
